Parents and carers
We would not be the school we are today without working in close partnership with the parents and carers of our pupils. We are hugely grateful for the efforts and enthusiasm of the parents who support and encourage their children's endeavours in their journey through the school.
Good communication is vital to this partnership. The Hamlet Herald is the Head Teacher's half termly newsletter, detailing information about staffing, events, rule reminders, visitors and diary dates. On a daily level parents are kept informed via letters in the school bag, which also carries a Contact Book for parents and teachers. There are also termly open evenings, and parents are welcome to speak to their child's teacher any day after school.
We are lucky to have a very active and supportive PTA, who organise a programme of fundraising events throughout the year.

The PTA organises social activities and raises funds to support the school. It is a charity and a member of the NCPTA – the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations. As a parent or carer you are automatically a member. We are always looking for new projects and fundraising activities. All ideas, feedback or offers of help are very welcome and can be sent via the PTA mailbox in the school office, or via email to dhjspta@hotmail.co.uk.
