The story of our school
Dulwich Hamlet has been at the heart of the local community since 1884. Since that time, local children have poured into the school from the surrounding area, some accompanied by parents, and even grandparents, who were also pupils at the school. The school has become integral to village life and a cornerstone of the community. We strive to maintain this special place in the future of Dulwich.

We are particularly proud of our musical tradition. We provide opportunities to learn a string, brass, or woodwind instrument - which are lent free of charge. Every child is taught to compose, perform, listen to, appraise and appreciate music and there are lots of opportunities to learn new songs and enjoy singing and celebrating together. We have developed and nurtured many young musical talents and provide many opportunities for pupils to perform and demonstrate their musicality.
Our school environment
Dulwich Hamlet is continually developing. The new Pickwick building, Purcell Music Rooms and new playground equipment are wonderful additions to the school. The Pickwick building houses the bright new library, computer suite, new classrooms and a staffroom. The Purcell Music Rooms provide excellent facilities for our budding musicians. The playgrounds now have a range of challenging structures and markings, providing popular break times when pupils enjoy socialising and playing cooperatively and creatively.
